FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL SCHEDULE

Hello,
I have the first week of school music program schedule for you now.  This information will also be sent home in a flier with your child this week (please note attachment).  All students who want to participate in the music program this season should show up to their respective days (rookies and veterans).

These will be informational classes for the rookies but students with experience should plan on bringing their instrument and prepare to do a demonstration on their instrument for a quick try-out.

Wednesday after school:
Drums, percussion,
drumline & drum set

Thursday after school:
Colorguard, letter carriers, drum major & majorette

Friday after school:
All other instruments, keyboard, guitar, sax, trumpet, flute, clarinet, trombone, French horn, baritone, tenor sax, bass clarinet, tuba, etc.

Open to all students.  This schedule will be the first week of school only.  The twice-a-week class schedule will start the second week of school.  Only students who have played their instrument for at least one school year need to bring their instruments and a prepared piece for a short try-out.

Please let me know this week if you can determine any time conflicts starting next week which you or your child might have. Please consider every week day from Monday through Friday, any time from 2:40 to 6:40 pm.

2014 - 2015 - SCHOOL YEAR STARTING

HELLO 2014/2015 MUSIC PROGRAM,

Well it seems like summer went by in a flash.  It's already time t start the new school year.

This Thursday, Aug 7th from 6:30-8pm is our first music booster meeting of the year in the band room.

We have much to discuss including our budget for the year.

I would like as many veteran parents as possible at this meeting as there will be many questions from "rookies" and a lot to decide on for the year.

Don't forget, every adult in attendance will earn volunteer hours at this meeting.

I might have some "free dress" passes available as well (show up & find out).

Trusting Jesus,
BJ

Sunday, June 8, 2014

Hello summer band,

If you haven't heard, the awesome drum line will be performing at the Merced County Fair this Wednesday June 11 at 5:30 pm.

Since their show isn't a whole 30 minutes, I would like to invite all music program students to consider doing a performance also.  If any of you have been practicing like you should and you feel confident enough to do a song (any song either by yourself or as a group),

I will pay for your admission to the county fair after the performance on Wednesday.

All I ask is that you let me know immediately and that you show up to our dress rehearsal on Tuesday at the school from 4 - 4:30 pm.

If you can't make the dress rehearsal, that's okay, get in touch with me for a make-up practice.

We need to meet at the "G" street entrance at 4:55 pm on Wednesday to get ready for the performance.

Please wear modest clothing appropriate for the warm weather but as nice as you can muster.

If you're not ready to perform a song by Tuesday, you should still plan on attending the Fair performance to cheer on your fellow classmates.

Parents remember, helping at performances like this one (even if it's just supervision) counts toward volunteer hours.

See you next week!
God Bless,   Bj
